Awali Hospital is currently looking for general physician locums.

Awali Hospital is 35 bed general hospital owned and operated by the local oil company in Bahrain. We employ 15 expatriate doctors - two GPs, a general surgeon, ENT surgeon, two Obs Gyn, two paediatricans, two anaesthetists, two resident medical officers, two physicians, a radiologist, and two dentists. Our doctors and nurses are expatriate and come from NZ, UK, Finland and South Africa.

Our two physicians cover the usual gamut of work, but problems related to diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidaemias are quite preponderant here. Both our physicians at present perform upper and lower GI endoscopies, cardiac stress testing, etc. We have a small 2 bedded ICU/CCU and there is a larger hospital 5 minutes away to which we can transfer any problem cardiac patients – they do angiographies, bypass surgery, etc. Our physicians work a 1 in 2 shift but out of hours work is not particularly onerous.

The salary package is £1,545 pounds sterling per week, tax free. Business class travel is provided if travel unaccompanied, or two economy tickets if accompanied by spouse. Housing is provided as is a car for use out of hours.

    Locum Paediatrician required

    Awali Hospital is currently looking for general paediatrician locums.

    Awali Hospital is 35 bed general hospital owned and operated by the local oil company in Bahrain. We employ 15 expatriate doctors - two GPs, a general surgeon, ENT surgeon, two Ob/Gyn, two paediatricans, two anaesthetists, two resident medical officers, two physicians, a radiologist, and two dentists. Our doctors and nurses are expatriate and come from NZ, UK, Finland and South Africa.

    Our two paediatricians cover the usual scope of outpatient activity performed in an office environment. The inpatient workload is not high and mainly involves general neonatal cases associated with our obstetric service. Patients requiring intensive or high dependency care are usually transferred to a nearby referral centre. Our paediatricians work a 1 in 2 shift but out of hours work is not particularly onerous.

    The salary package is 1545pounds sterling per week, tax free. Business class travel is provided if travel unaccompanied, or two economy tickets if accompanied by spouse. Housing is provided as is a car for use out of hours.

Awali Hospital is 35 bed general hospital owned and operated by the local oil company in Bahrain. We employ 15 expatriate doctors - two GPs, a general surgeon, ENT surgeon, two Ob/Gyn, two paediatricans, two anaesthetists, two resident medical officers, two physicians, a radiologist, and two dentists. Our general surgeon provides surgical care at Awali Hospital along with our ENT surgeon and two Gynaecologists. A full range of general surgical work is undertaken in two modern well equipped theatres and a separate suite provides a gastroscopy and colonoscopy facility. Facilities are available for the undertaking of laparoscopic surgical procedures and other subspecialty interests are undertaken depending on the interests and skills of the incumbent.
